Book of the Month

April Book of the Month

April 1st, 2008

How could one refuse to make this classic a book of the month? I must admit I have not seen the new movie yet, but it is one of my favorite Dr. Suess books.

March Book Of The Month

March 2nd, 2008

Hey it’s an election year!  This book is great for political curriculum in the classroom.  The book is a series of letters, colorful illustrations, and other insights from the campaign trail.

Pesty Fly

February 23rd, 2008

This is a parody off the “Little Old Lady That Swallowed The Fly” story.  Fly Guy is a series written by Ted Arnold.  Full of little boy humor, these stories are popular amongst elementary children.  Arnold’s stories have a similar appeal to many of Dav Pilkey’s books.  They are quite cute and the illustrations are comical.

Bring in the New Year With a Book

January 1st, 2008

Farting DogI was lucky to stumble across a used copy of this book. The story was a hoot and the illustrations are just as amazing. William Kotzwinkle is the author and the illustrator is Audrey Colman. Together the two have made a cult classic in children’s literature. If you want to laugh in the new year, pick up a copy of Walter the Farting Dog and read it to a child you know.
